Neal McCoy has been busy.

Over the last few years Neal McCoy hasn’t been on country radio as much as he used to be back in the ’90s, which is a shame, but these days Neal is busy touring the world and even releasing new music. Last year Neal released a new song and a book of the same name. I heard the song for the first time today and had to share it.

A New Mountain To Climb is a song about inspiration, drive, and having a passion for life. Neal McCoy seems to have met many inspirational people in his life. He put all of that inspiration into his performance of this song. It’s about climbing all of those difficult mountains in life.

For some of us we have our own little mountains to climb each day. A difficult argument at home. Paying the bills. Trying to figure out a new challenge at work. For others a new mountain to climb could be learning how to walk again after an accident or learning how to read again after a head injury.

No matter what the mountain is there are people out there pushing onward as they climb every single new mountain life puts in front of them. Those are the stories that are inspirational and this song from Neal McCoy does a great job capturing that emotion and spirit.

A New Mountain To Climb probably won’t be heard on the radio in many places around the country, but I’m sure it’ll be a big hit at Neal’s shows in 2011.
