Joe Nichols

Stone cold country right here.

It’s certainly been an up and down career for Joe Nichols.

It’s been 15 years since he had his first hit with The Impossible.

Since that time Joe has mixed in some big hits with some that have just missed with country fans. He’s been on a handful of labels, but is still out there making great new music.

He’s released a couple singles the last two years. They haven’t cracked the top 40 at radio, but he has a strong new single. It’s stone cold country and I like it.

Never Gets Old – Joe Nichols

Now this is some country music, right?

Joe is one of the traditionalists in country today. He’s mixed in a few modern sounds along the way. But you have to change with the times a bit while still keeping it country.

This one sounds like something George Strait would have put out during his career. Really at just about anytime during his career.

There is just always room in country music for a simple love song with a great melody that makes you feel good about life. And that’s what this one does.

The hook is that this guy has love for the woman he cares about most in the world. The world passes them by. Things change. Their lives together change in many ways, but through it all he loves her the same. Loving her never gets old.

It’s a simple lyric, but it’s a beautiful one.

I’m probably biased with this one thinking it’ll reach top 5 at country radio, but I’m hoping for a nice surprise.

Chart Estimate: #5

CML Points: 88/100
