A little Christmas from the guys in Rascal Flatts.

It’s coming close to that time of year and country artists are releasing holiday albums. It’s really one of my favorite times of the year because we can come and revisit some of the greatest music ever released.

And we can even relive those songs in new ways when our favorite artists cover the classics (and sometimes release originals). This time we’re looking at Rascal Flatts and their version of a Christmas classic.

I like this one.

O Holy Night – Rascal Flatts

I think all three of the guys in the band share vocals on this one and that’s pretty cool. Obviously it’s been Gary over the years that has taken on just about all of the lead vocals. But the other guys in the band can sing too. They’ve always shown that with their harmonies and they have had little features here and there.

But I think on this one they’re all singing. And it’s kind of like that throughout the album I believe. But this song kind of stood out among all the songs on the album. This is obviously a traditional Christmas song that’s been covered a number of times.

But the guys in Rascal Flatts put their stamp on the song while still being true to the way it’s always been done. They bring things to high points just when it’s necessary. They don’t over do things in anyway. They let the melody and the lyrics and the music kind of guide things and take you on that Christmas journey.

Great song in time for the holidays.

CML Points: 88/100
