He sounds great.
It’s weird to me that some of my favorite artists are kind of on the backside of their career.
Alan Jackson, Toby Keith and even George Strait aren’t really played at country radio anymore. And that’s not even mentioning some other big stars of the ’90s like Mark Chesnutt and Wade Hayes.
Wade has been through some difficult health challenges over the years. But he’s been out there making music recently including a brand new album that came out earlier this year. I missed it at first, but now I’m checking it out.
Here is the title track.
Old Country Song – Wade Hayes
I’m okay that things have changed in country music. It’s normal for artists to have their run and then kind of drift off into the background. They can still live a good life. They can still tour and do all kinds of things. And every once in awhile someone in their 50s and 60s has a hit.
That’s how life goes.
The cool thing about today is that we can still listen to the music the legends are making.
This song from Wade Hayes seems to be about getting older. Looking at how you’ve lived life. This one seems to even be a bit about listening. How one person can affect others just by listening. Not offering a ton of advice. Just listening. And comparing that to an old country song. So many country songs have helped people get through difficult times.
Great job by Wade on this one. He still sounds as good as ever.
