Jo Dee Messina

Peace, Ya’ll

Jo Dee Messina hasn’t been on the country singles charts for five years.

But if you remember she was on the top of the charts for a good run back in the ’90s and ’00s.

It may not have been all her fault the last few years. Her label, Curb, has a reputation for holding back artists.

The label has produced results, but they’ve also produced some frustrated artists.

But Jo Dee is back and it sounds like she may have another hit with attitude.

Peace Sign – Jo Dee Messina

This is the same kind of attitude you would expect from Jo Dee. She’s always had this me against the world attitude and it comes through again on this one.

The song is about a woman that confessed her love to a guy and he bailed…via email. What a punk.

The girl in the song takes it on the cheek and moves on. She waves him a goodbye with one finger short of the peace sign.

That will make you smile. There are plenty of people out there that have felt this way. You fall for someone and they just don’t share the same feelings. And if they’re a jerk about it then you deserve to throw them a little peace sign.

Great song from Jo Dee. I hope she does well. She’s out on her own now, but has the backing from her fans to the tune of more than $120,000.

It should be a great album with proper promotion.

The song is certainly good.

Chart Estimate: #25

CML Points: 83/100
