This one is really good.
It’s been about five years now since Danielle Bradbery won The Voice. She instantly sounded like she was going to win that show.
And this was back before we knew that the powers involved with the show couldn’t break an artist into the mainstream.
American Idol had early success breaking artists. Even Nashville Star turned its contestants into mainstream success stories. Miranda Lambert and Chris Young are still going strong.
It seemed like Danielle was a surefire major artist. And that could still happen. She’s incredibly young. She just put out a new album. The first single seems to be a bust.
This song, I don’t think it’s a single yet, seems to be gaining some momentum. That could be a really great thing.
Potential – Danielle Bradbery
The voice was never the issue with Danielle. The issue has always been the songs. Kind of cheesy. Forgettable.
But now it looks like she wrote most of the tracks on this new album including this one. Maybe that’s going to be the key.
And this song touches on a great subject. A woman that wants to love this guy, but she is smart enough to see that he is only potential. He hasn’t reached it yet and he probably won’t ever reach it. She has to let go of him even if it means some short-term pain.
She just can’t keep fighting and believing that he is going to become something. Chances are that won’t happen.
This is a really good song. Will this finally be the one that hits for Danielle?
