Is there another country artist out there like Jake Owen?
I don’t think so. I can’t think of one.
And I think that’s a good thing. He’s been out there trying to find his unique place in country music and I think he’s been finding it. It’s kind of the beach thing and the having fun thing with a few powerful and serious songs thrown in.
But this new one is definitely a fun song and kind of an anthem.
Real Life – Jake Owen
The meaning of the song is about all the things that go on in real life. It’s a good sentiment in today’s world where we see the supposedly real lives that people live. We see what they put on social media and it can be easy to feel jealousy from what you see.
But back in real life you have problems. You have issues. You don’t have all the things that others seem to have and maybe the things you want, but in the end that’s totally okay.
I think that’s a good emotion and topic for a song, but the real story here is the music and the style of the song. It’s almost like a country meets Sugar Ray kind of song. I don’t really know how else to explain it. It’s catchy and fun and the music is kind of ridiculous.
But with Jake Owen it works and I think people are going to attach themselves to this one. Kudos to Jake for giving this one a try.
