Another good one from one of the best bands in country history.
Zac Brown Band still has a single climbing the charts. That one was the first from their most recent album. It’s about ready to crack the top ten and might have some legs left on the chart.
But it looks like the group has the followup single picked. And after you hear it you’ll definitely recognize it as a Zac Brown Band song. It’s a theme the band has covered over their mainstream career, which is amazingly already coming up on 10 solid years.

Roots – Zac Brown Band
There are a few different ways this one could have gone. Zac and his crew seem to have taken it fairly autobiographical. They look back on the fight and struggle to get to the top. And then they hit home with the message to fans that even if you’re struggling with something that it’s important not to give up. Especially if you really want something on the other side.
Zac Brown is acknowledging the struggle he had. He’s happy he went through that. It really left a mark on him and helps him to appreciate the things he has now. He’ll do his best to never forget those struggles. It keeps him working just as much today.
So that’s a great sentiment for a song. But the words alone aren’t enough. The song has to hit home and it really does. Great melodies. Great harmonies. And I like the subtle music. The vocals really take center stage on this one and I like that.
