We’ve had a couple songs from Josh Dorr on the blog over the years. In fact, it looks like the first one goes back all the way to 2011.
It’s always crazy to me that these artists work for so long before they even sniff some success. At least success in the mainstream world.
Anyway, Josh has been out there this entire time looking for a breakthrough. What we have now that we didn’t have back in 2011 is Spotify. And this song popped up on Wild Country, which is one of the big country playlists.
It doesn’t guarantee anything, but it’s a step in the right direction.
Run – Josh Dorr
This song has a pretty funky beat. It’s catchy and fun and I like it. It sounds like a modern country song. Progressive and urban. Definitely something that people in country music have been liking. Maybe a little bit of that Thomas Rhett sound mixed in with some Brett Young mixed in.
Josh’s voice sounds good too. It fits with the production really well. And the more you listen the more you start catching yourself grooving along and maybe even singing along.
I’m still diving into these lyrics. I can’t determine if it’s about a guy that wants to kind of run away with a girl. Kind of leave everything behind and start over. It could be something else though. I’m still figuring it out, but I’ll be listening to this one more and more.
What do you think?
