I need to catch up on The Voice again.
This is another one that popped up on New Boots on Spotify. It stood out as I was listening. At first I thought it was Zac Brown, but then it seemed like it was a different artist.
But it’s never a bad thing if you have a little Zac Brown in your voice and style.
Anyway, it turned out that the artist was Austin Jenckes. He’s brand new to us here at CML. But that doesn’t mean that Austin is new. In fact, it seems like he’s been out there working hard at his craft. Writing and recording songs and getting it in front of people and building that audience.
Check this one out. It’s a little different.

As usual I’m behind on The Voice. It turns out that Austin is an alum of the show. Man, the more I catch up on that show the more I can’t figure out why they can’t break those artists out into success like Idol could.
Anyway, maybe Austin will be the first breakout star from the show. Things sound good on this one. It’s got kind of a different country style than what we’ve had recently. Maybe there’s a little bit of the Sam Hunt sound on this one. Maybe a little Keith Urban.
The lyrics seem to be about the small town lifestyle. Working through the week. Taking care of yourself and the ones you love.
And enjoying a beer before you hit the bed for the day.
