It’s a little old school and I like it.
Here’s a cool new duo on the scene in Nashville. They’re still releasing music on their own. But I’m sure they have a great team behind them working to help promote their new album.
I have yet to listen to the full album. I’ve made it through the first few songs. They each are good. The one I really like is the first single from the album.
So that’s the one we’re going to look at today here on the blog.
Shadows Through A Canyon – Fort Defiance
The first thing that stands out about this song is the title. That’s kind of unique for a song. It used to be that we discovered songs by listening to the radio. That still happens today, but I don’t believe as much.
Now we have things like YouTube and Spotify. It’s often the title we notice first. And this one just seems to say a lot with only a couple words.
Beyond that the style of the song is intriguing. I can’t quite put my finger on what’s going on with the song. I think it’s a struggle for a couple. They’re struggling to figure out their future. Are they together? Are they better off on their own? Can they really make it through this coming winter and be okay on the other side?
This duo has something. Their voices are different, but they fit together nicely. They don’t really remind me of any other act in Nashville. At least not one that’s mainstream.
What are your thoughts on this one? I’m curious to hear what you think.
