Shelley Lynch caught my attention right away.
I was listening to CML Radio the other morning and You Can’t Look Back came on. It reminded me instantly of Mary Chapin Carpenter and I had to check things out a bit further.
It turned out Shelley Lynch was the singer and she’s got a new fan with me now. I love this kind of country music. The singer-songwriter kind of music that has feeling, passion, and good stories and themes to share.
We are lucky to have a lot of great female country artists on radio, but I think there’s room for more like Shelley Lynch. Check out this great song…
You Can’t Look Back – Shelley Lynch
What do you think of the song?
You Can’t Look Back is about not looking back on the bad things in life. Don’t look back. Don’t go back to those hurtful times that might hurt you again. Don’t waste this life by going back to the things and the people that have hurt you in the past.
I love the upbeat melody. It’s catchy. It’s fun. It’s uplifting. It’s about not looking back on the bad things in your past. Loneliness, unfortunate circumstances, and other disappointing things in life aren’t worth the time and effort to look back on.
You Can’t Look Back could be a Mary Chapin Carpenter song, but I want to stay away from comparing Shelley and Mary too much. They both are their own artists and with all the talent in country music it’s impossible to think two artists won’t sound similar.
I love what Shelley is bringing to country music with songs like You Can’t Look Back. I can’t wait for more of her music to come out.
