Florida Georgia Line

I’m a golf geek and to me Florida Georgia Line takes on new meaning in April when the PGA Tour crosses over from Florida over to Georgia for The Masters.

It kind of caught me off guard when Sun Daze hit number one recently. I wasn’t sure if the song was strong enough to get that high on the charts, but people obviously connected with the Florida Georgia Line song. I think they’re getting back to the basics of singing about young love with their single, Sippin’ On Fire.

Sippin’ On Fire – Florida Georgia Line

This type of song has started to become the FGL sound. They’re doing their brand of country music and fans have been loving it. You have the heavy rock and hip hop beats getting you feeling deep in the emotion and the song is about young love and the emotions that go with it.

It seems to be about a couple that for whatever reason isn’t together right now. Maybe they’re past lovers no longer together or maybe they’ve met for the first time and they’re not sure how far they should take it.

Either way you’re kind of pulled into the story and into the song and that’s one of the talents that FGL has had with the songs they’ve put out thus far in their career.

It sounds like the kind of song that should reach the top of the charts. I’m not sure if it will get there, but these guys are one of the biggest acts in music. They remind me a little of Brooks & Dunn and how those guys kind of took over country in their early days. The music is different, but the phenomenon is similar.

Chart Estimate: #3

CML Points: 84/100
