There’s a little buzz in Nashville that One Direction’s Niall Horan is teaming with Maren Morris on a new song. I wasn’t sure when that was coming out, but it reminded me that I wanted to include Niall’s latest solo single here on the blog.

You might be wondering why a boy band guy would have a song that sounds country, but I think it would fit right in. And Justin Timberlake has already kind of poked his head in the country door a time or two.

Slow Hands – Niall Horan

That’s a good song. It’s really catchy and it sounds a little different than a lot of pop music right now. This one is more acoustic and stripped down.

It would be easy to picture country artists like Sam Hunt or Billy Currington doing this song. And I have no doubt that it would be a huge hit.

The song is about a passionate evening for two people. That makes it a pretty simple lyric, but sometimes those are the best lyrics. In this case it’s just a mix of words that sonically fit really well and make you want to sing along.

The One Direction guys have been releasing new music. From the early sounds of it I would say that Niall has the brightest solo future. Maybe even in country music.
