How awesome is Sonia Leigh’s voice?

She’s amazing. Zac Brown is a genius for signing her to his record label. She didn’t have huge chart success on the mainstream country charts with her first single, but this one might have a chance. I’ll probably say that about every one of her singles.

Bar is about a woman that realizes she keeps making the same mistake with a guy. He’s a lowdown, no good man and she can’t seem to get past things. She’s heading to the bar to drink away the sorrows. It’s what some of us do when we’re out of answers to life. We head to the bar to drink until we don’t remember things. We hang out with a few good friends or possibly by ourselves. It’s all about looking for a way out.

But I don’t think Bar is that much of a downer song. The melody is catchy and it’s easy to sing along with. I think the darkness will be hidden a bit in the melody and that’s a good thing for Sonia. I’m not sure if she’s looking for major success on the charts, but if she is she’ll need something with a catchy melody like this to get some radio play.

I love the live version of this song. Sonia is a great live entertainer. The crowd at the station is really loving this. She sounds great. It’s almost exactly like the studio version and that is tough to find, but I love it when a country artist can pull it off.

Sonia is a unique artist. I love her music.

And I love the fact that she is ready for a bloody mary after a night of drinking at the bar.
