It’s fun. It’s catchy. It’s perfect for summer. What else could we want?
We’ve had a run of more serious songs on the blog this week. It’s good to have a mix of things in life. Some songs are about the serious side while others fill in the fun voids.
That’s what this one from Austin Peckham is all about. We’re starting to get into the hot months here in the US. It’s summertime. People are getting outside to enjoy the sun and the water and everything that goes with it.
Splash – Austin Peckham
There’s a little Florida Georgia Line and Jake Owen in this one. And I would say that’s a good thing. Those two acts have been having incredible success with party songs. It’s all about enjoying life at least for a little while. Things can get so serious sometimes that we need to kick back and let loose a little bit.
Austin Peckham is new for us here at CML. It looks like he’s out there doing the independent thing. That can lead to big success, but it can still take a lot of work.
This song and situation remind me a little of Cole Swindell from a few years ago. Cole was out there working the independent side of things with Chillin’ It and eventually broke through with major success.
Will this song be the breakthrough for Austin? I don’t know. That will depend on how his fans and other country music lovers react to this one.
What do you think?
