Will Thomas get back on the #1 train with this one?

It’s hard to believe that it’s been over four years since Thomas Rhett released his first single. He was kind of creeping up on the mainstream even before that as a songwriter.

He’s a young veteran in the country world now. I’m sure he’s been working on his third studio album, but before that comes out he’s putting out a deluxe version of his latest album and it will include a new single.

Let’s check it out and see what it might do on the charts.

Star Of The Show – Thomas Rhett

Okay, obviously there are some pop influences on this song and with most of Thomas Rhett’s songs. This one particularly sounds like Bruno Mars, but Thomas has ventured there before. And Bruno Mars has some really good songs so he’s a good one to use for inspiration at least in part.

But Thomas has also been crafting and honing his style for a few years and this has kind of been the natural evolution. He’s kind of making this part of his sound. It’s not all of his sound, but he’s just about the only one doing it in country music.

It’s pretty cool.

The song is a straight ahead love song. The guy  in the song believes that his girl is the star of the show. She’s the best one for him no matter where they go and she doesn’t even realize it.

The lyrics are pretty good. The melody on this one is really good. It’s going to get stuck in your head. I like it.

Chart Estimate: #5

CML Points: 88/100
