This one might throw you off a bit, but it’s good.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this title.
But after listening to a few times I’m liking Stripper For A Week from Jenny Tolman.
It’s kind of reminding me a little of Gretchen Wilson and Maren Morris. Maybe even a little Loretta Lynn and Shania Twain.
Sometimes we act like prudes and cover our mouths when a country artist sings about something that’s a little taboo.
Miranda Lambert comes to mind too.
Anyway, give this one a listen. I think you might like it.
Stripper For A Week – Jenny Tolman
I love the opening line: Too much month at the end of the money
How true is that?
Anyway, this is the song of a working woman. Someone that’s working hard and seemingly struggling to make ends meet. So she’s kind of entertaining the idea of becoming a stripper for a week.
What the heck?
She’s still young and sexy. She feels good about herself. It might be kind of fun and the money always seems to be pretty good.
Maybe it’s just a fantasy. The result of a long week with endless bills piling up and creditors calling and leaving messages all day long.
I think we’ve all been at that point in our lives. Maybe even multiple times.
This one is on Wild Country on Spotify right now. I’m really curious to see how people respond. I like it. It’s a fresh take on life and song. It’s also a showcase of a good singer. Jenny has a traditional country sound while still sounding fresh.
I like it. What do you think?

Jerry is crazy smart, crazy clever, crazy talented, crazy gorgeous and crazy down to earth sweet. You won’t be seeing her taking a knee to nothing! Keep your eyes on her, she is moving fast! Before you know it, she’ll be Jenny Tolman, the super star you’d like to have coffee and a glutton free muffin with!!!
Saw Jenny perform “Stripper for a Week” at The Bluebird Cafe on 19 September, acoustic. It was fabulous, maybe “scandalous”. Jenny’s attitude and banter during this performance and the show made me an fan right then. Watch this young lady, she is going places.
Absolutely loving this song. Jenny is an incredible artist. I only discovered her recently through Facebook and can’t wait to hear more from her.
I am anxious to buy your new CD, when it will be for sale beautiful?
