So last week we had the pleasure of listening to brand new music from Terri Clark. She’s as big as she’s ever been up in Canada. It’s too bad we don’t get to hear her that much in the States these days, but that’s how things go.
Thankfully, radio still plays tons of Terri’s catalog songs. She was a huge artist for about a decade starting around 1995 or so. She had hit after hit after hit and became a country legend. Anytime to go on a run for a decade or more in country music you’re doing something special. And Terri still sounds great with that wonderful new song.
The song we’re going to listen to today was from back in 1999 when Terri was at the peak of her career. But before we get to that we have to look at a story that Terri posted up on her YouTube page.
The video is Terri surprising a big time fan at the fan’s retirement party. When I first read the title for the video I thought it was about Terri’s retirement party. That was surprising, but thankfully Terri still sounds like she’s going to be out there working for a long time and that’s good for country music fans.
Now on to today’s song. This one reached #12 on the charts here in the US and went even higher in Canada. It was a big hit, but what I liked about it was that it showed Terri’s ability to sing any kind of song. She could sing something uptempo and she could sing something a little more serious.
Enjoy this throwback to classic Terri Clark from 15 years ago.
