McBride And The Ride had a strong run in the early ’90s. They were meant to be the band that took on the dominance of Alabama. They never quite reached those heights, but sometimes when you aim high you still achieve something great and McBride And The Ride did that and more. They had a string of hits and a few of those songs still live on today in country music. Here is one of my favorites, Love On The Loose, Heart On The Run.
Love On The Loose – McBride And The Ride
The thing about ’90s country is that it had a very traditional sound with some uptempo stylings. This song kind of captures that feel really well. It’s catchy. It’s got some heart and it tells a story. They don’t really make music with this groove anymore, but I guess it’s just the natural course of change.
These guys were together for a few albums. They never sold millions of albums, but they had hit after hit for a good four years or so. 1992 was their biggest year with the hit singles coming off the Sacred Ground record. Lead singer Terry McBride would go on to have a strong career as the bass player for Brooks & Dunn. He even co-wrote a few of B&D’s biggest hits with Ronnie.
And from time to time we can check in with The Ride’s hits. They put out some great stuff. Love this one.
