Love And Theft Runaway

It’s been six years already since this one came out.

Since we looked at Love And Theft yesterday I thought we would flashback to their first hit.

I was surprised to see that this song came out in 2009. It just doesn’t seem like it was that long ago, but I guess that’ show time works.

The song, Runaway, is one that you might remember. You definitely know it if you’re a fan of Love And Theft. It was actually back when the band was a trio.

It was their debut single on Carolwood, which I think was a subsidiary of Lyric Street. Both are now shuttered. After the success of the song and another top 25 single the band moved to a new label and had more success with a number one hit, Angel Eyes.

Now they’re kind of in limbo again releasing music more independently, but I hope they can find a good situation with a major label again and get some more radio play.

Listening to Runaway you can hear again what’s been there since the beginning. The guys know how to write and find songs that are really catchy and really good.

I remember when this song came out and people would sing along and kind of knock their hand on the steering wheel whenever it came on. It just kind of has that rolling melody that makes you feel like life is moving fast and you’re just trying to keep up.

So I’m not sure what the future holds for Love And Theft. It’s hard to believe it’s been six years since this single first came out.
