Carrie Underwood

Do you remember this pop hit from Carrie Underwood?

It’s been about ten years since Carrie Underwood burst onto the scene on American Idol. I don’t know where the time goes. Since then, Carrie has become one of the biggest stars in all of music. Simon correctly predicted that she would sell more records than any other contestant on the show. I think that’s still the case. It’s probably between Carrie and Kelly, the original Idol.

Anyway, back in 2005, Carrie was on top of the country world with her first country single, Jesus Take The Wheel. The song was a huge hit on country radio. It was everywhere and it seemed like you could listen to it on one station then change the channel and hear it again on the other country station in town.

After that first single there was a second single released. I’m not talking about Don’t Forget To Remember Me. That was a great hit, but before that Carrie released the single Some Hearts. I don’t remember hearing the song much on country radio; maybe once or twice. The song was actually released more to pop radio and the Adult Contemporary charts.

I don’t think the song got enough attention even though it was the title track to Carrie’s first album. It’s a song about someone that is looking at all the love stories around her and wondering if that will ever happen to her. Or maybe it’s about a girl that realizes how lucky she is to have found the person she loves more than anything.

Either way, with Carrie releasing a big new single recently I thought it would be good to look back on one of her lesser known, but still great songs.
