I love this time of year for many reasons.
One big reason is that some of the country classics are played. I’m talking about country Christmas songs. We get to hear some of the artists normally not heard on country radio (unless you’re lucky enough to have classic country stations).
Here is one from one of my favorite artists, Suzy Bogguss.
She had quite a few hits back in the early ’90s and one of her biggest hits was this Christmas song, which has become a classic country Christmas tune.
Pull out your dancing shoes…it’s time for Throwback Thursday.
Two-Step ‘Round The Christmas Tree – Suzy Bogguss
I don’t remember a lot of two-stepping when I was a kid, but I do remember my Grandpa pull us kids up to his chest as he would dance around the table. That was mostly to polka music, but it’s all the same when you’re a kid.
This song brings back some good Christmas memories. It’s uptempo so as a kid you find that you like this kind of music. I remember those long two-hour drives to Grandma’s house every holiday and there was usually country music playing on the radio.
I know this one was played probably every year during those trips. It’s become a favorite of mine and I’m sure there are plenty of you out there that feel the same way.
