Tim McGraw and Faith Hill

It sounds like a hit to me.

For the first time in their careers Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are on the same label.

I think they both signed their initial deals in 1992 or 1993. Faith was the first to breakout. Tim’s first album kind of stumbled, but then he entered the big time with his second album.

Faith had been on the same label her entire career. Tim was with Curb and then with Big Machine. Now they’re both on Arista.

They’ve been looking for that big breakout hit single. The first one reached the top 20. They’re looking for more with this next one.

The Rest Of Our Life – Tim McGraw & Faith Hill

I wasn’t sure about this one at first. The lyrics seemed a little tired. A familiar topic.

But the more I listen to this one the more I like it. The more I listen the more I find cool little lines and interesting little melodies and hooks.

It’s working for me. I think it’ll be a big hit. And the folks at Arista obviously think so too. This will be the name of the album that’s coming out around Thanksgiving.

Will this song be at the top of the charts for that release?

I’m sure that’s the plan.

It kind of reminds me of an Adult Contemporary song. Maybe one from the late ’80s or into the ’90s. Something that Sting or Bryan Adams would have recorded that would have been a huge hit. Something star crossed lovers would have danced to at prom.

What do you think of this one from the two powerhouse stars?

Chart Estimate: #3

CML Points: 87/100
