Aaron Watson

Have you heard of Aaron Watson?

Aaron Watson made headlines last week when his album debuted at number on on the country charts. That’s a huge feat for any artist, but it’s especially impressive for Watson because he’s not on a major label. He’s been doing his own thing for his entire career.

Aaron was turned down by everyone in Nashville so he went to his home in Texas and did his own thing. His brand of traditional country kind of died out in the ’80s and ’90s, but Aaron has kept doing what he’s good at and he’s built a huge following. And the great thing is that country might turning back to traditional sounds and that’s even better news for Watson.

I was checking out his latest songs on YouTube and the one with the most views was the title track from his new album. Check it out.

The Underdog – Aaron Watson

This song doesn’t sound like it was created by an independent artist. Aaron Watson is a true professional. He knows how to record professional songs that will sound good wherever people are listening. And the song has a great message. It’s about family and never being afraid to be the underdog or to root for the underdog.

This is the type of song that people have always liked. Family, friends and all those things connect with audiences and when you add a great melody you’re going to connect with people.

I like this one a lot. What do you think?

CML Points: 90/100
