At this year’s ACM Awards, two women established themselves in the country music record books.

For most of history, the men have ruled the charts, the sales, and the awards in country music. However, in the past few years, the women have been taking over all three aspects of the country world.

Artists like Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, and Carrie Underwood have replaced the typical George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, and the other country superstars.

These ladies have been releasing music that is connecting with millions of country music fans across the world. Their unique style has a variety of influences including the great artists that have proceeded them as the superstars in country music.

Let’s take a closer look at the ladies that are taking over the country music world…

Miranda Lambert

The last two albums Miranda Lambert has released have sold millions of copies. The albums have produced multiple hit singles. And each album has won the ACM Award for Album of the Year. She is the first female country artist to accomplish this feat.

It’s impressive for any country artist and producer to win an award for best album.

What’s exciting for Miranda Lambert fans is that she seems to be only on the rise in her young career.

Lambert is three albums deep into her career. Her singles keep reaching higher peaks on the country charts. Her videos are getting more creative with more impact.

Miranda Lambert has already achieved major status in the country world and her creativity, talent, and drive will only yield more music that connects with an ever expanding audience.

Very few artists have won two ACM Entertainer of the Year awards. The only ones up to this point have been male country artists.

That streak was broken in 2010 when Carrie Underwood became the first female country artist to win Entertainer of the Year award twice. And she did it in back to back years.

The former American Idol winner has worked her way to become one of the biggest and most respected country superstars in history – male or female.

Carrie Underwood burst onto the country music scene after winning the major award show with her debut album.

Nearly all of the singles went to #1 on the country charts. One single even received major airplay on the AC chart.

Underwood continued the success with her second and third albums. She even ventured into songwriting by writing some of her biggest hits after her debut album.
