There seems to be a little depth to the meaning of this one.
Jason Aldean has reached the top of the mountain in country music. He’s been one of the top artists for the last several years. He’s playing stadiums and running on about 16 number one hits right now.
And I think he does a good job of mixing modern sounding country rock with pretty hardcore country. He just had a bit hit with Any Ol’ Barstool. Big time traditional right there.
Anyway, Jason has a new single out. It’s the title track from his latest hit album. The fourth single and it sounds like another hit to me.
They Don’t Know – Jason Aldean
There was some background to this song I believe. The lyrics are about a few different scenarios. Small town life. Hard working blue collar folks. People see what’s on the surface and they can judge all they want, but they don’t see the struggle.
And the same can go for scrappers in life. Those that work from next to nothing to build themselves a good life. A good job. A good business. A good family and all that.
It’s not easy. We often see the surface on Facebook or from a distance with our neighbors.
But we all struggle in our own ways. Nothing comes overnight with success (or struggle) in life.
With Jason, I think he’s talking about his career. I think he’s talking about his personal life. And he was able to find a great song that’s also catching with a great rocking edge.
It sounds like a hit to me.
Chart Estimate: #1
CML Points: 89/100
Jason’s been on fire in the past few years. Hes always been super talented and a force to be reckoned with but past couple years it’s been hit after hit sold out everything non-stop . I definitely think him finding his soul mate contributed to it in some ways he’s just rocking it!
