A Thousand Horses

Here is the next single, an important one, for A Thousand Horses.

A Thousand Horses kind of stampeded on the scene this year with their first single, Smoke. The song went all the way to #1 on the charts. That’s pretty impressive for a new act. It doesn’t really happen for new acts, but these guys are off to a great style.

But the tricky thing is always to followup that success with something good.

And I think they have.

(This Ain’t No) Drunk Dial – A Thousand Horses

One thing with Smoke was that it has a really catchy chorus. I would catch myself singing along to it out of the blue in random places. And once in a while I would catch other people singing along to it.

It’s really hard to come up with melodies like that, but I think they’re on to something pretty catchy with this song. I think it’s one you can sing along with and get stuck in your head.

The song is about a guy that’s calling up his girl late at night. But unlike what happens many times in that situation, this one isn’t a drunk dial. The guy is not all high and pouring out his heart.

He’s completely in his right mind and he wants to see if they can make things work despite what happened between them.

Maybe it was a drunk dial that led to the situation in the first place. And now he needs a non-drunk dial to get things back to where they were all good.

I think it’s a good song. It’s catchy. It’s different than other things on the radio. This band is different and different in a good way.

What are your thoughts?

Chart Estimate: #5

CML Points: 85/100
