Top Country Songs of 2011 Part 18
15. You Gonna Fly – Keith Urban
It’s always exciting when Keith Urban releases a new single. This year he released a few big hits and his latest has been another smash. The song is racing up the charts and Keith is on his way to another top hit. It seems like as Keith has slowed down into family life he’s only gotten busier. The man hits the road harder than anyone else out there and he seems primed for success well into his 40s. There is now stopping him now and if he keeps releasing music like this he’ll be ready for life in this next decade.
14. Amy’s Song – Brent Anderson
This song is probably a surprise to most people. The track is just something really catchy. I didn’t like it the first time I heard it, but as the days went on I kept coming back and listening more and more. Brent takes a few lyrics from the Pure Prairie League and turns it into a neat story song. The track is simple and sweet and the melody is really catchy even if it’s borrowed a little bit from an American classic. I like the way this guy songs and I think he could surprise in the next year. We’ll see.
13. Keep Me In Mind – Zac Brown Band
Every song, save one, has made it to the number one slot for the Zac Brown Band. The guys are already one of the biggest country acts of all time and they are showing no signs of slowing down. This recent hit was another chart topper and the guys are looking at a great 2012. Fans can probably expect new music starting with a new single and new album in the next few months. The guys have a great work ethic and I can’t seem them slowing things down now.
12. Drink On It – Blake Shelton
Blake Shelton had his biggest year in the last dozen in 2011. He’s looking to keep things going with Drink On It. Blake is ready to get back to work on The Voice early on in 2012 and this single should benefit from the added attention on Blake in the spring. I’m sure it will be yet another huge hit for Blake. The man seems like he can do no wrong these days and it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy (at least it seems like that). I saw him in concert earlier this year and he put on quite the show.
11. Something ‘Bout A Truck – Kip Moore
Kip Moore has had an interesting year. His debut single got him some press early on and it was surprising to see it fade away before really getting up there on the charts. After that Kip came back with a strong and catchy second single Something ‘Bout A Truck and it’s really been making its way up the charts. Now the song is already in the top 30 on the charts and is Kip’s first official hit single. Things are looking good for the country newcomer in 2012.
