Top Country Songs of 2011 Part 4
10. Without You – Keith Urban
I defined this song as a bit sappy, but Keith Urban’s fans proudly came to his defense. The song really is beautiful and I’ll admit I probably shouldn’t have called it sappy. The track is another song about where Keith is in his life now. Things appear happy from the outside in Keith’s life. He’s got some great kids and a great wife. Things are going well in his career. Keith is singing about the good things in life and the world needs a little more good these days.
9. If I Run – The Harters
The Harters aren’t new to the country game, but their latest single is their highest charting track to date. The band is looking to crack the top 40 in 2011. The song If I Run is a cool track with a great sound and a great theme. I’m not sure how much this track will be able to climb the charts, but it’s a good effort from a group that may just be figuring things out. Will The Harters run away with a hit this year? You be the judge. Check out the song.
8. I Won’t Let Go – Rascal Flatts
I was a bit surprised when Rascal Flatts released I Won’t Let Go. The track is another big ballad from the group. It’s slow moving and didn’t seem like the right kind of track to release heading into summer. The song is catching on fast with fans though and I have to admit it’s a good song. It’ll probably be another top ten for the group. The guys just keep on rolling with hit songs even after switching labels and showing a bit of renewed enthusiasm heading into 2011.
7. Somewhere Else – Toby Keith
Toby Keith had an interesting 2010. He had two hit singles, but neither reached the top ten – something unusual for Toby. The single released keep rolling though with the latest single Somewhere Else. It’s a simple song about breakups and heartache, but it’s got a little bit of an uptempo beat and it’s kind of fun to sing along with. This track might be the first top ten from Toby’s latest album. He’s been the kind of guy that has misses, but this track could be a surprise big hit in 2011.
6. Homeboy – Eric Church
Eric Church has slowly been building a strong collection of hit country songs. In 2011 Eric is moving on to a new album and the first single from the album is already catching on with fans. Homeboy sees Eric talking to the guys that are too cool for anything when they’re in their late teen years or even early twenties. Some of these guys pretend to be something they’re not and when that happens they can forget about where they come from and even the people that care about them. It’s a great song with a great reminder for the young and cocky.
