These are the top ten videos of 2011 for the first part of the year. Check them out and see what you think.
These are the country music videos I liked most up to this point in the year.
Top Country Music Videos of 2011 – Part 2
There are a few interesting names – I think anyway – in this part of the countdown. The ranked the videos both by how much I enjoyed the song and by how interesting the videos are. It’s completely subjective, but I thought it was alright.
10. Barefoot Blue Jean Night – Jake Owen
Jake Owen’s career has taken a few strange turns in just a few years. A few of his singles have been smash hits and others have been hit or miss. He hit again big time with this track. The video was also great. Jake took off to the lake. It actually seemed like he just took a camera with him on any regular Saturday and filmed him and his buddies out on the lake wake boarding and having a good time. And there were plenty of girls in bikinis and you really can’t go wrong with that.

9. You and Tequila – Kenny Chesney
Kenny Chesney is going for four straight number one singles and all from one album. The old guy in the bunch is still keeping the hit singles coming and this was just another great tune. The track was groovy and soulful. There was plenty to like and I think it’s becoming a sleeper hit of the year. The video is as beautiful as the song as Grace Potter joins Kenny in a few playful and romantic settings. It’s great to watch and really intriguing imagery.

8. Homeboy – Eric Church
Eric Church just had his latest album become number one on the Billboard 200. That made him get noticed from the entire music industry. Eric is star now and the song that took him there was Homeboy. It’s a take on a brother that tries to go the wrong way by acting out and doing wrong things. The video was engaging and really made you watch through to the end. Eric is on his way and this video is getting tons of plays in 2011.

7. Look It Up – Ashton Shepherd
I was really happy when Ashton Shepherd released new music in early 2011. The song – Look It Up – became her first to crack the top 20 on the charts. It was a huge hit and the video was really amusing. Ashton was even setting fire to the old belongings of the guy that did her wrong. It’s great. She let him have it. There was plenty of sass from this southern girl and that’s exactly what you want from this up and coming country star.

6. You Lie – The Band Perry
It wasn’t just another cheating song. When The Band Perry released You Lie people took notice. The band has a sound entirely their own. It’s unique and it’s new. The song became another smash hit for the young group and the video became a hit as well. It’s got a cool vintage look and really paints the picture well as you watch the band really take it to the ex boyfriend that made it seem way to easy to lie to his girlfriend.

5. Tomorrow – Chris Young
Chris Young was poised to really become a star in country music with his third album. Things got off to the perfect start when he released the lead off single Tomorrow. The song has gone on to become a number one smash hit. The video became a smash hit as well. It follows the story from the song where Chris gets one more night with the girl that’s leaving him. Young love and loss in full effect.

4. Mean – Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift has been making great videos for a few years now. She’s still in her early 20s yet it seems like she’s been a pro in the business for a lifetime. I don’t think she’s going anywhere. She lashed back at her critics with this one. Taylor knows who she is and she works her talent to the best of her ability. Love her or hate her she’s going to continue making great music and great videos.

3. Dirt Road Anthem – Jason Aldean
I’ve been waiting for this track to become a single from Jason’s latest album since the collection came out last fall. There was nothing like this on the radio and Jason was at a peak in his career and really has the ability to release anything he wants. The song changed the perception of country a bit and Jason keeps moving into superstardom. Now, the video has become a bit hit on CMT and CMT.com. It’s a great video with flashbacks to the days of chillin’ with friends and sitting on the tailgates.

2. Just A Kiss – Lady Antebellum
Lady Antebellum isn’t letting their momentum slow down. They have a new album coming out soon and the debut single has already peaked at number one on the charts. The video was a smash success as well. It’s the visual story of a girl falling for a guy. It turns out to be just a dream, but we’re left feeling like the romance will happen in real life. True love is out there and Lady Antebellum just keeps on rolling.

1. Honey Bee – Blake Shelton
There are a few each year that get caught in your head for the better part of a month. So far this year that song has been Honey Bee by Blake Shelton. I’ve caught myself singing this song over and over again. And I see others doing the same thing. This song has whatever that thing is that makes you smile and makes you enjoy three minutes of life. The video is great too. You have Blake out in the country flirting with a pretty girl selling honey. Just good down home country music and the best video of 2011 thus far.

The list would have been okay if Taylor Swift and The Band Perry were not on it, don’t like either one.
@Clara – no Band Perry for you? What videos were you favorites? It’s always a subjective list, but I gotta know what others prefer 🙂
