Top Country Music Videos of 2011 Part 4
10. Gone Like That – Josh Kelley
This song wasn’t a huge hit, but I thought it was one of the best of the year. The video is really well done as well. Check this one out from Josh Kelley because you probably haven’t heard it yet and probably won’t hear it anywhere in 2012. It deserves some recognition, though. I think Josh is one of the better artists out there right now and I think he still has a few more singles up his sleeve.
9. Red Solo Cup – Toby Keith
Toby Keith came out with this surprise recently and I think it caught everyone off guard. There has never really been a song like this before on country radio, but it’s become one of the fastest rising singles of Toby’s legendary career. There is perhaps nobody else that could pull of this funny song about those little red plastic cups. It’s a great song if you don’t take it too seriously and the video fits the song well. Toby is still the man.
8. Long Hot Summer – Keith Urban
Keith Urban is the man. He keeps releasing great music and it’s almost to the point where people forget about him because he’s so consistent. You can’t beat a great track like Long Hot Summer, though. It’s one of the best of the past year and the video is great as well. Keith is in a good spot right now it seems in life and in his work. The man keeps ’em coming and this is one of his personal best.
7. Long Way To Go – Alan Jackson
Don’t forget about the old guys. Alan Jackson was back with a new label and a new single earlier this year. The video is fun and it makes you smile. You gotta laugh at those days when the bugs fall in your drinks. Alan seems to be working hard and keeping those hits coming. The man is a legend and it’s great to hear him still out bringing the goods with new songs.
6. God Gave Me You – Blake Shelton
Blake Shelton brought in his wife for a little help on this video. The song was one of the biggest of the year and so was the video. You can’t beat a great romantic country song and the video followed right in line. Blake became a genre-crossing superstar this past year and the new year looks to be even bigger. He’s ready for another season on The Voice and I’m sure we’ll have plenty more hits coming up. Great year for Blake and wife Miranda.
5. A Woman Like You – Lee Brice
Lee Brice is looking at another top hit for 2012. A Woman Like You is a great song and the video plays well on the story of the guy that used to party, but is now settled down with the love of his life. And it turns out he was only out doing all the crazy things in life because he hadn’t found her yet. It’s a great song and it’s a true story for many guys out there that formerly lived the bachelor life.
4. Reality – Kenny Chesney
The man that doesn’t know how to take a vacation came off some time off this past year and took back his perch atop country music. Kenny Chesney is incredible and this song and video are great. He’s the only country artists right now that’s active and out selling out stadiums. That’s stadiums where the tickets are expensive and the seats are outside and need to be filled to the tens of thousands each night. This man is the new king in country and he keeps rolling out the top hits.
3. You Don’t Know Her Like I Do – Brantley Gilbert
I can’t get enough of this song right now. For all the guys and girls out there you know this song hits home. Brantley seemed to go from rising country artists to superstar almost overnight. There will be big things from him in the new year and I’m sure he’ll ride the success of this song all the way to #1 on the charts. Get ready to see this video nonstop on CMT and GAC for the next six months. I can’t wait.
2. Meet Me In The Barn – Jason Michael Carroll
Here’s one you probably haven’t seen. Jason Michael Carroll put some effort into creating this Thriller-like video for his latest single release. The song received no attention at radio, but the video has been churning some conversation. JMC seems like a hard worker and something seemed off after he was released from his recording contract a couple years back after a very successful debut album and sophomore album. I’ll give him credit where it’s due and place this video at #2 on the year end list.
1. I Don’t Want This Night To End – Luke Bryan
After watching hours of CMT over the last six months I had no doubt that this was the top video. Luke Bryan has slowly become a country superstar over the last couple years. I’m not sure if he’ll be out headlining in 2012, but the guy is really close to reaching that status. He has tons of hits now and could probably command the stage for at least 90 minutes if not a full two hours. With this song he’s got another surefire top hit and the video is really well done. It follows the story of the song and people have been loving it. A big year ahead for Luke Bryan.
I love your list! 100% agree with it!
Very nice songs and I love it…
