The deep voiced country singer Trace Adkins has switched record labels and has new music on tap for the second half of 2010. After 13 or so years, 8 studio albums, 2 greatest hits albums, and over 20 popular hit songs with Capitol Nashville, Trace left to pursue new creative options. The destination for the powerful singer was Toby Keith’s own Show Dog Nashville records.
Since forming his own record label and marketing agency in 2006, Toby Keith has had great success selling records and having hit singles. However, Keith has been unable to find other artists to have that same type of success on his label. In an attempt to change that Keith and Adkins joined forces and seem to have a hit on their hands with Trace’s latest single.
The song is This Ain’t No Love Songand it’s climbing the charts. The song is just entering the country top 40 and continues to receive airplay and requests on radio stations across the country. The song is uptempo, confident, and powerful. It’s a classic Trace Adkins song. The tune is about a guy denying that he’s falling in love with a woman. He’s trying to sound like the tough guy that isn’t capable of falling head over heels. As most women know, however, this isn’t the typical story.
Trace’s first album on Show Dog Records is due out in August.
