This is a cool song. Clare Dunn has been putting out singles for the last few years. She’s still looking for that first hit. Her last single was a good one and it cracked into the top 50 on the charts.
But you know she’s looking for more. This new one has been getting some good exposure. I know it’s been on the Wild Country playlist on Spotify for a couple months. I’ve liked it each time I’ve heard it come on.
Give it a listen and see what you think.
Tuxedo – Clare Dunn
The general theme of the song is love. It’s about the admiration this woman has for her man. She doesn’t need a man that’s refined and dressed up like some businessman. She likes him the way he is. He’s down to Earth. He’s blue collar and proud of it. He treats her right and beyond that it doesn’t matter what he’s wearing as long as he’s comfortable, confident and working hard.
The real story on this song is the beat and the sound. It’s pretty different from what you’ll get in traditional country. It fits in well with what’s going on in country right now, but it still sounds a bit unique from other artists. Maybe there’s a little bit of Sam Hunt in this one, but I think that’s a good thing. I don’t think any female acts are doing this kind of music right now.
But I would think that a lot of country fans will like this one.
