He’s still one of the best traditional singers in country today.
You’re going to be seeing a lot more Christmas songs in the coming weeks here on CML. Maybe you’ve already noticed. I love this time of year and I know that you probably do as well.
Chris Young has had an interesting career in country music up to this point. I think he’s done a really impressive job at towing the line with modern and classic country music.
There is no doubt that he’s one of the most traditional country artists out there today. I appreciate his effort to keep things country in a time when pop definitely is ruling the country world.
And Chris just came out with a new Christmas album. There are a lot of great songs on it, but this original song stood out to me.

It’s pretty cool to me when country artists record Christmas albums and put their own original songs on the record. It’s great to cover the classics. Those are special songs to people, but I think it’s still important to see if you can find a new song that will become new classics for listeners.
It looks like Chris had a hand in writing two original songs on the new Christmas album including this one.
The song seems to be a love song about two people that maybe don’t have too much during the holidays. They have just a little tree. They can’t afford too much other than a radio and maybe a little food on the table.
The weather is pretty bad outside too. The snow is falling. The ice is glazed on the road, but they have each other and that’s all that really matters. They can stay in and just be in love.
A great new holiday song.
