Just a cool chilling song.
Not many contestants from The Voice have hit it big in the music world.
They have been some incredible artists and singers. And some definitely should have had success. I don’t know what the issue has been.
Anyway, Morgan Wallen is really showing some big potential. His first single, The Way I Talk, reached the top 30 at country radio. I thought maybe it would get even a little higher than that.
But that’s a solid debut for a new artist. Now he’s just put out his next single and it’s fun. It’s catchy. And he’s even got a little help from Florida Georgia Line.
Up Down – Morgan Wallen
This tune definitely has the FGL vibe. Kind of chill and laid back. About the good things in life. Just chilling and enjoying all the great things that we have.
It’s nothing too serious. It’s nothing crazy deep that will make you think. But I guess it will make you think that life is pretty good if you take the time to enjoy it.
Morgan kind of reminds me of Justin Moore in the sense that he has a very apparent Southern accent and he’s not afraid to show it. I’m sure he’s been told that it wouldn’t work in country music. That’s what his first single was all about anyway.
But I think it’s cool that he’s embracing it. So many country fans sound exactly like them and probably see some of themselves in him.
I’ll be pulling for Morgan with this one and watching to see how far it goes on the chart.
Chart Estimate: #10
CML Points: 86/100
