I never thought I’d see this title in country music.
Country music is no stranger to marijuana.
Willie Nelson has practically been the spokesperson for the herb since the ’70s.
Eric Church has slipped in a few mentions here and there. So has Kacey Musgraves and a handful of other artists.
It’s just another vice. Like beer and liquor. Like trucks and fishing.
Now it’s Toby Keith’s turn to put his spin on the subject. And imagine my surprise last weekend when I logged onto YouTube to see that Toby’s new video was #1 on the Trending list.
Toby could be back and bigger than ever with this one…

This song is obviously pretty tongue-in-cheek. But it’s just so damn catchy. you can’t help bug sing along.
It’s a little tough to figure where this one will end up at country radio. It’s not bashful about marijuana. I think people are going to want to listen to this one, but there is probably a loud minority out there that will complain and protest to radio stations.
But you never know…
And the way things are today there are more outlets than radio. This one has already been a hit on YouTube. I’m sure it’s been a hit on the other streaming services.
And I can’t even imagine how it’s been going over in concert. That’s where this one will really play well. It’s an anthem-type song. Something that would work incredibly well with the Parrot Heads at a Buffett concert.
Toby seems to have a modern hit on his hands. Not bad for a guy in his 50s. I love it.
