Lindsay Ell

I really like this one.

The song is called Waiting On You and the EP is called Worth The Wait.

Are there a few meanings going on with the great new music from Lindsay Ell?

Lindsay is a Canadian country artist. She’s been releasing music for the last four years or so. I think all those years have been with Stoney Creek, which is part of the Broken Bow family.

She’s had a few hits in Canada. Maybe nothing crazy big, but a few solid hits. Things in the US have been a little slower. And this is her first official EP release.

Let’s check out the new single.

Waiting On You – Lindsay Ell

We’ve had Lindsay’s music on the blog before. This is her sixth single after all. And I’ve liked the music she’s put out. Those Canadian artists have all mostly put out some great music. It doesn’t always translate into success in the US, though, for whatever reason.

Anyway, this is a flirty, fun song that seems like it would do really well in the US. It’s got kind of a Kelsea Ballerini thing going on, but with a little more rock style and a little more edge. It’s Lindsay kind of putting her style on the modern sound in country music.

The lyrics are about a woman that’s waiting for a guy to come around. She’s ready to move into the relationship. They’re feeling things going on, but the final step is for him to take the leap.

So she’s waiting on him, but maybe it’s also a little bit about her waiting for her career to take off.

Chart Estimate: #25

CML Points: 86/100
