He just keeps rollin’ out the hits.
Dierks Bentley is kind of all over on country radio right now. He’s coming off a few successful songs from his latest album, Black.
He’s also got a hit in the top ten at radio right now with his buddy Cole Swindell. That one seems like it might be ready to reach the top of the chart. A great summer song.
And Dierks is queueing up another solo single that should be hitting radio pretty soon. It’s another one that has Dierks’ fingerprints all over it.
What The Hell Did I Say – Dierks Bentley
This one kind of threw me a little bit. I wasn’t sure if it was a sad type of song. A guy that’s out drinking and then dialing up an ex-girlfriend or something like that. Kind of sad about how things ended or something like that.
Now I’m almost thinking it might be a guy that’s getting drunk and calling a girl that maybe he’s not totally into. But she’s kind of feeling good about him even though she knows that he was drinking when he said the things she liked.
So now the guy think he’s in big trouble. Are they going shopping? Maybe shopping for a diamond ring? He just doesn’t really know. It sounds like trouble.
It’s pretty cool that Dierks is still going strong at this point in his career. Not many artists make it 15 years in this business, but Dierks has been one of the most reliable hitmakers over that span.
Chart Estimate: #5
