A little old school for you on this one.
Little Big Town doesn’t really follow the standard rules or style in Nashville.
I like that.
They make all kinds of music. Things that are more pop. Things that are more old school country.
I would say this new one falls in the second category.
The interesting thing here is that they’re leaving their last single at about #40 on the chart. It didn’t really have much of a chance, but perhaps they’ve been getting great feedback on this new song.
It’s the next single.
When Someone Stops Loving You – Little Big Town
It’s difficult to predict the chart positions for Little Big Town songs. I thought the last single was a good one and that kind of stalled out.
I really like this one. The lyrics might be a little familiar. But it sounds fresh and definitely has a traditional country sound that you really don’t get a whole lot today.
And it’s pretty big news that one of the guys in the quartet is on lead vocals. Just a slight little change there that makes it interesting. I didn’t realize it was LBT at first.
But you definitely know it’s them when those harmonies kick in.
The song is about someone that has had someone leave them. Or at least someone who was or is in a relationship where the other person fell out of love.
Lots of heartache in this one. I like the line about how when someone stops loving you that it doesn’t make the evening news. You’re kind of on your own to figure out how to feel and what to do next.
