Love & Theft are a great country duo. They’ve had a few hits out there, but they’re looking to continue to build on the success they’ve had in the past. I thought their last single was really good, but for some reason it didn’t really hit on the charts. But that’s not stopping these guys. They’re back with a new song. Check it out.
Whiskey On My Breath – Love & Theft
Right away from the opening lyrics you get the picture of a guy that is really struggling with life. He’s turned to the booze and you can feel the pain in his story. But he wants to get better and that’s really the first step.
I really like the line that goes – I ain’t afraid of dying/but what scares me to death… That’s some clever wordplay there. It’s pretty cool.
We’re all out here trying to figure out the world. We all make mistakes and we feel bad about them. So I think people are going to connect with this song. It’s kind of on the sad song, but there is redemption in the story as well. And that will give people hope especially if you’re going through something like the story in the song.
What do you think of this new one? I think it could be a hit and that would be great because country music is better with Love & Theft.
Chart Estimate: #15
