Here is one from one of my favorite new artists.
I don’t think this is an official single yet, but I’ve been hearing it all the time on Spotify. The playlist is the main one for country music, Hot Country. I guess one of the main ones. And each time this song comes on I turn it up a notch or two.

Why Baby Why – Mickey Guyton
This is my kind of country music.
So you’ll have to take this review with that in mind. I love the old style country music and Mickey Guyton has been winning me over every time I hear her. And I love this live performance setting. You can really tell that she is a special talent.
And I like the story in the beginning about how she’s had this emotion. She’s been through some things in life and that emotion comes through in the song and in other songs she sings.
Yesterday we looked at Blue by LeAnn Rimes and I said that it would lead into today’s song well. I think there are some parallels between these two artists. The obvious one is that they’re singing traditional country music with a contemporary feel.
But you can also really get a sense that Mickey’s vocal talents are pretty amazing. And that’s how I’ve always felt about LeAnn and her voice too. They both just have something that is powerful, pleasant and you feel like it could work well with just about any type of song.
I’m glad we have them in country music and I’m excited about this song and future songs from Mickey Guyton.
