Dierks Bentley

Dierks Bentley is back and ready for a new album.

Sometimes I feel bad for the fourth single off any given album.

The fourth single kind of feels like an afterthought. There’s still a little time before the next album will be ready for release. So it almost feels like the label and the artist put something out. If it hits it hits. If it doesn’t it doesn’t. No big deal either way.

It’s almost like the fourth single has to be really good to become a hit. They don’t really put much effort into the promotion unless it starts to catch momentum.

I think that happened with Dierks Bentley’s What The Hell Did I Say. It was a good, but not great song and stalled out in the 40s on the chart.

But not to worry. Dierks is back with the first single from his next album and it sounds like a good one.

Women, Amen – Dierks Bentley

Some Dierks Bentley songs kind of have this feeling and sound of movement. This one has that sound. It feels like you’re riding on the highway in a car doing about 20 over the speed limit. You’re just trying to keep up with the feeling.

The song is about the love this guy has for a woman. It’s like he’s come to the realization that she’s been the cause for many of the great things in his life including bringing out the best in himself. His success. His drive and passion. All better because of her.

It’s a good song. I think it’ll do well.

Chart Estimate: #5

CML Points: 86/100
