Do you know what sounds like a fun Christmas?
Hanging out with Jimmy Buffett. Get down to the islands. The sun shining warm. Cold drink with little water droplets slowly rolling down the side. Fun with friends and family in a great setting.
It’s certainly different from the usual Christmas here in Wisconsin where things can get pretty cold. I love that setting, but sometimes it might be good to get away and enjoy and island Christmas.
Jimmy has a new holiday album out and the first track is a Christmas classic.

Obviously Jimmy Buffett is not going to make a traditional Christmas album. He’s going to do things his way and it’s no different with this classic holiday song. The traditional versions of this one have been pretty upbeat and fun.
Jimmy keeps it upbeat and fun, but does so in his own way. He’s kind of backed off the tempo to be more laid back and almost soothing in a way. It’s kind of like you just arrived in the islands and you’re just ready to lounge, relax and have a good time.
This style seems to fit well with Jimmy. People go to his shows to escape. That means that there will be plenty of time for partying, but also some time to just relax, which is something many of us need especially around the holidays. It can get pretty hectic and stressful. A little relaxation goes a long ways.
