Hunter seems ready to get back to the top of the charts with this new song.
Here is one that’s been highly anticipated.
Hunter Hayes broke through into the country world a couple years ago with his debut album. That thing was a smash hit and crossed over into the pop world. It was really good.
Then Hunter’s second album fell a little flatter. It was a really good project, but just didn’t hit with fans the way the first record had.
Then Hunter came back with a pretty successful single in 21, but it’s been quiet since. Now we have a new single from what should be a new album early next year.
Yesterday’s Song – Hunter Hayes
The hook on this one is that the guy is moving on from the girl. She seems like she might still be into him, but things haven’t worked out and the guy is ready to move on. Maybe she did something wrong and he couldn’t deal with it anymore. It’s just not worth it.
And it’s all wrapped up in the idea that she is now yesterday’s song. He couldn’t stop playing it all the time and thinking about her, but now he’s ready to move on to something new and different and better.
This one is certainly catchy. It seems like it fits right into Hunter’s pocket. He’s a little country with a little pop and it all comes together in a good way on this one.
It seems like a potential hit at radio. We’ll have to see what happens.
Chart Estimate: #10
CML Points: 85/100
