Walker Hayes

Walker Hayes is back with another catchy new song.

Last year Walker Hayes released a couple of albums or mixtapes or EPs or whatever you want to call them. I’m pretty sure that those were only released independently or with his management.

They were full of good songs. I know that my wife has been loving Break The Internet. She sings that song all the time. It’s one of those ear worm songs that gets stuck in your head.

Now Walker has a new single just out for 2017. From the looks of it I think he’s signed with a major label again. It looks like Monument, which I think is an on and off again label for Sony. The Dixie Chicks used to release music on Monument.

Anyway, let’s check out this new one.

You Broke Up With Me – Walker Hayes

Walker was previously signed with the Capitol group in Nashville. He’s obviously talented and the major labels know it. But for whatever reason that first go around didn’t work out.

But this one is really promising. This song is really, really catchy.

It fits in really well with what’s going on with country right now. It’s modern and fun. It’s kind of tongue-in-cheek looking at a breakup. The guy is having a good time and the other person is maybe feeling a little regret about the breakup.

But the guy is sitting there like, you broke up with me… Get over it and move on.

I’m pulling for this one to do well. Walker seems to want to do his own thing. It’ll be interesting to see if country fans are digging what’s he’s making.

Chart Estimate: #25

CML Points: 88/100
