Are you a Filmore fan?
I know that Filmore has an uphill battle in the country world. There are lots of fans and folks close to the industry that don’t want things to change. They don’t want different sounds in country music.
I’m one of the biggest George Jones fans there is and ever was, but one thing that always bothered me a little was how he would look down on new artists. Especially those that brought something a little different, a little progressive to the genre.
I love classic country, traditional country. And there is some of that good stuff today, but there are also sounds like those that Filmore is bringing. And I like it too.
You Know You Wanna – Filmore
I have to hand it to Filmore for pushing the envelope. There is an opening in country music right now for music like this. Sam Hunt was able to breakthrough with sounds like this. Progressive. Electronic. Dance. All that kind of stuff.
This song makes you feel like moving. It’s definitely progressive. I know that not all of you are going to like it, but I’m guessing that some will. And that’s kind of where it matters.
The sound is what makes this song for me. The lyrics are about a guy and girl that are kind of right on the edge of taking the leap with each other. They’re right there and ready to commit, but they haven’t quite made the jump yet.
