It’s amazing how many talented women there are in country music. The reason I say that is because you just don’t see them up on the top of the country charts these days. I don’t know why that is, but it’s been an issue for the last several years. Hopefully that will start to change a bit here in the coming years.
Here’s another example of a great female voice in country music: Kree Harrison.
You Would’ve Wanted It That Way – Kree Harrison
This is a really sad song. I can’t say entirely what the song is about, but it seems like a guy has been gone for some time and that the women he was with is left trying to figure things out.
The song seems to be about losing someone important. I think there are personal touches in the song, but if you’ve lost someone you can probably put yourself into the narrator’s position.
It’s a heartbreaking situation to think about. And the performance is top notch. You feel the emotion in the song through the vocals and those vocals can really hear them shine with the soft accompaniment. It’s just a simple acoustic guitar, but sometimes that is the best way to do it.
What do you think of this new country song and what are your thoughts on Kree Harrison? I think she could be a star in the country world if only radio and radio fans would come around.
