Still one of the best.
Does Kenny Chesney really get the credit he deserves?
I think we kind of take for granted just how good he’s been for 20-25 years. He’s been at the top in terms of touring and radio singles and albums and the whole deal for that long.
It was a slow build for him in the early years. Finding his voice and his style, but once he hit on it he took things to new heights.
And along the way he’s continued to stay true to himself while still evolving and recording music that new radio listeners want to hear.
I don’t know what the secret to that success is, but I think Kenny would say it’s partly due to his fans.
And because of those fans Kenny has compiled songs from the last ten years on the road and he’s putting out a new live release.
Here is a familiar one that was put out a little early.
Young – Kenny Chesney
I remember when this one was playing nonstop on CMT. I used to watch CMT every morning before leaving for school and this one was on all the time.
Has it really been 15 or so years?
This one marked a big change for Kenny. Maybe it had been building, but this took things into the superstar status and he kept building and building on that. And now he’s been playing stadiums and taking superstars with him as his openers.
Kenny just announced another string of stadiums in 2018. He sounds as good as ever. And I’m sure there are a few surprises on the live album.
And maybe there will even be a new studio album next year.
